A partner in the Bankruptcy and Corporate Reorganization Department, Elizabeth McColm specializes in the areas of corporate restructurings and bankruptcy. She has been involved in major restructurings and bankruptcies representing debtors, creditors and acquirers of assets.

Elizabeth's recent debtor/company representations include The Bon-Ton Stores in connection with all aspects of its chapter 11 cases; Noranda Aluminum Holding Corp. in all aspects of its chapter 11 case and JW Aluminum in connection with its recapitalization. Additional debtor/company engagements include Boart Longyear Limited, School Specialty, Inc. and Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Publishing Company.

Her recent creditor/investor representations include an ad hoc committee of holdco noteholders in the chapter 11 cases of Ultra Petroleum Corp. and its affiliated debtors with over $3 billion in indebtedness; the senior secured lenders to SquareTwo Financial Corporation in the company's prepackaged chapter 11 case; the ad hoc committee of debtholders of Pacific Drilling S.A. in the company's $3 billion restructuring; an ad hoc committee of certain secured noteholders of Armstrong Energy, Inc. in connection with the company's restructuring efforts; the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors of Quicksilver Resources Inc. with over $2 billion in prepetition indebtedness; an ad hoc group of senior secured creditors of Oro Negro and its subsidiaries in connection with a restructuring of over $900 million of secured debt obligations issued pursuant to Norwegian law-governed documents; and a group of investors in an investment of approximately $1 billion in Associated Materials, Inc. She also has represented bondholder groups in out-of-court restructurings and exchanges, including GMAC.

Clients note in The Legal 500 that Elizabeth "has an art for handling difficult personalities to reach consensus" and IFLR1000 recognizes her among the leaders in restructuring and insolvency. Elizabeth contributes an annual chapter, with fellow Paul, Weiss partner Alan Kornberg, to the International Comparative Legal Guide (ICLG) To Corporate Recovery and Insolvency.
