Brian Schartz is a partner in the Restructuring Group of Kirkland & Ellis LLP. His practice involves representing debtors (including portfolio, privately-held and public companies), distressed investors in acquisitions, out-of-court restructurings and Chapter 11 cases. He also advises boards of directors and senior management of financially troubled companies regarding fiduciary duties and corporate governance. Brian was named a New York “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers magazine in 2014–2017. In 2015, he was recognized by The Legal 500 U.S. for his work in corporate restructuring and was also selected as a member of the 2015 Next Generation Class for the National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges..
